Information system “ERGANI” comes into force in Cyprus
The Cyprus Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Social Insurance recently announced that the corresponding 2017 Social Insurance Regulations (Regulation 167/2017) will enter into force on 13 September 2021.
The main changes are as follows:
1. An application for registration of an employer must be submitted no later than 1 (one) day before the date when the applicant must become an employer.
2. Each employer must notify the Social Security Service of each employment at least one (1) day prior to the specific employment. In addition, the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance has appointed public relations officers in each district social security office for additional information and assistance. It is noted that from September 13, 2021, the issuance and use of the “Certificate of Employment” will be discontinued. 3. Each employer must maintain a hiring register in which he must record personal information about each employee (serial number, name, ID number, social security number, date of employment and date of commencement of employment).
